Indian cricket Prince Shubman Gill, who was born on 8 September 1999. He represents the Indian cricket team at the international level and also playing for Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. Shubman, a right-handed top-order batsman from Punjab, was selected as the vice-captain of the India Under-19 team for the 2018 World Cup due to his track record for making huge runs. Before that, in the Ranji Trophy in late 2017, he made his first-class debut for Punjab, scoring fifty runs in the first game and an aggressive 129 in the next match.

Domestic Career

On February 25, 2017, Gill made his List A debut for Punjab against the Vidharbha squad in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. In his second first-class match later that month, batting for Punjab against Services, he made his first century. He scored 129 runs in the Bengals’ game.

He was announced as the India Blue team’s captain for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy in August 2019. Gill was selected to lead the India C squad in the Deodhar Trophy competition for the 2019–20 season in October 2019. He became the youngest cricket player to captain a team in the competition in November 2019.

International Career

He plays in the Indian U-19 team’s series victory over the England U-19 squad in February 2017. He was selected as India’s Vice captain for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2017. With 372 runs scored, he led the squad in runs scored during the tournament and was selected as the player of the tournament. The International Cricket Council (ICC) selected Gill as the team’s emerging star after India’s tournament matches.

He was included in the India team for the limited-overs stages of their series against New Zealand in January 2019. He played in the fourth One Day International (ODI) match of the series against New Zealand at Seddon Park, Hamilton, on January 31, 2019, marking his debut for India in the format. He was included in India’s Test team squad in February 2020, this time for their series against New Zealand. On December 26, 2020, Gill played his first Test match for India against Australia. On January 3, 2023, Gill played in his first Twenty20 International match against Sri Lanka.He was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹1.8 crore in the January 2018 Indian Premier League auction.
